“...and test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows”(Malachi 3:10)
We made it to the new year! Congratulations and welcome to our month of Open Heavens! The Lord has been faithful and will continue to watch over us and everything that concerns us in Jesus Name, Amen.
With every new year comes excitement, hope and expectations for the coming months. It becomes imperative to approach these expectations in the new year with childlike faith after all God promises us a blessing that will overflow.
Often as a new year draws near, many make resolutions, goals and wishes for a successful run for that year. Why? because a new year is brand new and provides an opportunity to start on a clean slate. This offers a renewed hope and faith for a better tomorrow. It gives another chance, a chance for new beginnings.
“New Beginnings” have a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? Wouldn’t it be nice to press the restart button and start over? Yes Indeed. And that is what a new year provides-an opportunity to start again, an opportunity to refresh and keep going. What is that project you would like to start or perhaps finish this new year? This is the time to roll up your sleeves, start something new, brush off those old dreams or unfulfilled goals and start again.
But wait... Don’t we need God in all this? Sure, we do! We need His blessings in order to be successful!
How can we ensure that we experience open heavens in this new month? By being completely obedient to God. This requires being faithful in our words and actions towards Him and being committed to the House of God. King David was passionate in taking care of the House of God because he knew that is where his blessings lies. So therefore, we ought to do the same.
Are you caring for the House of God as you should? If you are, I encourage you to continue to do so for your reward is sure and if not, this new month is a great time to start! Do you realize that whatever goals you have for this new year has to align with God’s?
You can start by performing little acts of service which involves giving to the House of God with your time and substance. You will notice your zeal, commitment and motivation increase over time as the blessings of God will be evident upon your life. Therefore, step out in childlike faith, taking one step at a time and watch as the heavens open up on your behalf.
So, with heads raised up and hands outstretched, let us enter into our month of Open Heavens knowing that God will surely come through for us. And when He does, joy will overflow our hearts and we will sing a new song to the Lord.
